Working together
For me, therapy isn't a one-way process, it's a relationship. One where we work together, at your pace.
Our sessions are a place for you to be heard, and to truly listen to yourself. I’m not going to tell you what you should feel or how you should live. Instead, we will open up a space to be curious together about what’s really going on in your life, and underneath it.
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, so I’d like to make the process as smooth and clear as I can for you. Here’s how it works…
The process
Here is a guide to how beginning therapy might look. Steps one and two are optional. If you wish to register right away, click here.
-
You can contact me directly using the contact form or by text message to arrange a free call.
-
The intro call is very informal – it’s a chance for you to hear my voice, ask any questions you might have, and get a feel for how well we “fit”. You can book this by clicking here.
-
Before our first meeting, you will need to complete an Online Registration Form – this gives me important information about you, such as full contact and emergency contact details, as well as a bit of background information about you and your needs. If you’d like to skip the first two steps and register right away, click here.
-
Our first meeting will be a bit more structured than the ongoing work - I'll be asking for more details about what's been troubling you and what you hope might change, as well as gathering some background information about your history and the important relationships in your life.
Just so you know, it's not an interview! There's no need to have everything figured out or to tell me more than feels right - I'm just as interested in how you tell your story as in the details of it.
By the end, we'll have a shared sense of whether this way of working feels useful to you, and what the next steps might be.
-
Once we have agreed to begin the ongoing work, the space becomes much more yours. There's no agenda to follow, and you're invited to say whatever comes to mind. We'll stay curious about what emerges, noticing patterns, feelings and connections, and also explore how what happens between us might echo your experiences elsewhere. That gentle, unfolding quality is at the heart of my approach, and it takes shape gradually over time.
